A few days back we were just a few metres short of my parent's house in Behala when we realized that the road ahead was being blocked by two cows sitting in the middle of the road ruminating dreamily. Hubby honked several times with no avail. The cows insouciantly ignored this. Passers-by giggled. Here was an urban couple in a car being brought to a dead end by a predominantly rural creature. There was almost a sadist pleasure in this. Hubby lost his cool and asked me to get down and tackle the obstinate creatures. I got down and shooed the cows but to no avail. Finally, hubby had to do a rather difficult manouver to avoid hitting them and we reached home.
Reportedly, the same cow was seen poking his snout in front of our gate and urinating thereof the next morning.
We consider having been duly warned.
